Call it a guilty pleasure, call it a lyrically explicit reminder of home. Evergreen Copyrights has snatched up the 700 song catalog previously owned by Lil' Joe Records, which not only includes the extensive 2LC catalog, but Poison Clan and 69 Boyz as well. Expect more 2LC et al on television and film, as well as their Just Wanna Be Heard LP in 2009 on Lil' Joe/Focus.

It's amazing how the publishing rights to artist's catalogs are bought, sold and traded like any other commodity.
I know that many artist are taken advantage of and their publishing is outright stolen from them. Hopefully some of the new hip-hop acts will be able to keep their catalogs and pass it on to their children.
DOES MICHAEL JACKSON STILL OWNS THE BEATLES CATALOG??
I wonder how much Jay-Z's catalog will be worth 10 or 30 years from now. The Deathrow catalog was recently sold for $25-40 million, something like that.
Who owns the rights to Bob Marley's catalog, that has to worth a fortune.
funny you mention Beatles, i was reading in NME last week that even more Beatles catalog was found at a house in liverpool and was up for auction.
