This is crazy. One thing is a civil suit against a blogger, but this is criminal.
When you throw the RIAA in the mix with the Federales, what then?
Does it make you think twice? Drop a comment.
Excerpt:
The blogger suspected of leaking tracks from Guns N Roses' forthcoming album 'Chinese Democracy' was arrested in Los Angeles today (August 27).
FBI agents took 27-year-old Kevin Cogill into custody on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws. His bail was set at $10,000.

It's getting to the point where we're going to become a police state, when it comes to the RIAA. They're wagging the dog, though, because they're passing up so many incredible opportunities to move into NEW ways of distro. Fingers crossed that this guy can afford a good lawyer. Artists need to be paid, but it's shit like this that leads to a Metallica-esque backlash against them.
I just don't know about using tax dollars to go after copyright infringement. I mean, the FBI?
C'mon.
